Bodog Poker Review |
Bodog may be better known for its sports book and casino divisions which have been running since 1995, but their poker division which opened in 2004 has been growing exponentially in recent years due in part by their former endorsement of 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jamie Gold. Bodog Poker's success can also be attributed to its superior gameplay interface, competitive sign-up bonus, wide variety of games, and their US players welcome policy. |

Bodog's software was designed with simplicity in mind. When you open the software you'll be presented with the QuickSeat window. Select from the three Texas Hold 'Em varieties (no limit, pot limit and fixed limit), select your game type (cash or sit and go) and finally your stakes. In just a few seconds you'll be seated and ready to play. Players who prefer to browse through the games manually can visit the main lobby
The game window interface is clean and simple with a few additional twists such as player stats constantly displayed at the bottom right corner, your folded hand remains visible during the round. The other standard auto-play features are all present as well.
Bodog's software allows players to up to 3 simultaneous games either in separate windows or in a picture and picture format. |

Cash Games
The bulk of the cash game traffic is in the no-limit micro games ($0.05/$0.10, $0.10/$0.25). During peak hours there are up to 4,000 players online, this is when you will also find the most players in the higher stakes game up to $10/$20.
On a side note Bodog lists the games by the maximum allowed buy-in instead of the blinds levels.
$10 Max = $0.05/$0.10
$25 Max = $0.10/$0.25
$50 Max = $0.25/$0.50
$100 Max = $0.50/$1.00
$200 Max = $1.00/$2.00
$300 Max = $2.00/$3.00
$400 Max = $2.00/$4.00
$600 Max = $3.00/$6.00
$1,000 Max = $5.00/$10.00
$2,000 Max = $10.00/$20.00
Tournaments
The Sit & Go tournaments which start at $1+$0.20 and go up to $220+$15 are always well populated throughout the day. During peak hours a $5+$0.25 10 player tournament will be full in under 5 minutes.
The traffic is mostly concentrated in the no limit texas hold 'em games, although you will often find at least one or two Omaha Hi/Lo and 7 card Hi/Lo games running with decent traffic.
Tournament formats only Texas Hold 'Em is offered however. You can choose from single table and multi table. The tournaments are separated into daily tournaments and qualifier satellite tournaments for several events including the $100k guaranteed, WSOP, WPT, and EPT.

| The rake at Bodog is the standard 5% and with a 'no flop, no drop' policy whereby if there is no flop Bodog does not collect a rake. The rake also varies depending on the stakes and the number of players in a game. |

 |
| The competition at the micro and low stakes ($0.05/$0.10 - $0.50/$1) tables and low buy-in tournament is very loose. The competition becomes more fierce at the higher stakes ($1/2 +) tables however and is on par with the majority of online poker sites.
